I'm quite new to the operating system and I have a few queries.

I have sucessfully setup the system and configured it, however the Intranet sites facility has been giving me some grief.

When I enter Internet Explorer from the server it should give me the site, this appears sometimes and yet others this doesn't appear and displays the 404 error Page Cannot Be Displayed. If I leave the server and come back to it sometimes I get into the site and others I cannot. This seems to be an intermittent problem and has no pattern.

Also this server is not on a live system so no other clients are connected, but when I have connected a client I cannot access the Intranet site at all.

Can anyone advise?

Are there any network problems involved? Are you able to ping the site from a client? Have you looked at your DNS logs to find out if there is a problem there?

Do you use Exchange with SBS? Is OWA installed?

There doesn't appear to be any network issues and I think I have Outlook Web Access Installed because when I can get into the Intranet I can access Outlook there.

I think this problem is caused by having multiple web sites on the same server. You problaby have event viewer error messages on the server showing that you have a web site conflict.

Here a person with a similar problem:

To access the COMPANYWEB Site you have to give permissions to it. When you setup users through the Server Management you will use a default template that sets this up / Prompts for you.

Also when you get to the COMPANYWEB Site you can go into Site Settings and Manage Users as well as long as you have Administrative rights.
