Hi All,

I have recently enabled Windows 2003 server TCP/IP filtering to only permit certain ports on my system, since then I can not ping FQDN's. The system just comes back with "Could not find host", when i ping the IP it works fine.

I was under the impression that outbound DNS destination port number is port 53, I have allowed this port but it still does not work.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks for all your help.

try to use "wireshark" to seen what coms are going through..
