Heres the scenario,
I have a standalone lab network, that my development team works off of and lives off of, has 3 domain controllers all Windows 2003 w/SP1. One domain controller has recently been jumping ahead time wise, and its been throwing things into chaos for the workstations authenticating to it. DEV-DC01 is the original grand daddy of the network, with growth and expansion I've added DEV-DC02 and DEV-DC03, which are more robust than DEV-DC01 ever was, so i've transferred all of the roles over to the new DC's with the eventual plan to decommission DC01, but for now thats not going to happen. I need to stop DC01 from throwing everyone off, can I just flat out disable its Windows Time Service? as some workstations keep pointing to it to sync the time and its throwing them off by as much as 45 minutes some days. I have set up a batch job to run every 5 minutes to make DC01 sync its time to the other DC's but this is obviously only temporary. Is there a way to desginate DC02 as the sole time source, so the workstations will stop syncing with DC01? TIA
