I'm about to migrate from P.SQL 2000 to MS SQL Server 2000, and am running Progression 7.6.100. As I am setting up a new server and am impressed with what I am hearing about the stability, speed and security of Windows 2003 Server, I am strongly tempted to run on 2003 and forego a later upgrade from 2000 Server.

Is anyone running Macola on 2003 yet? If so, have you had any problems?

I had 2003 beta running on one of my boxes and had no problems with the SQL server side. Can't offer that as an official stance. I believe Macola is still "testing" this.

Has anyone heard Macola's official stance on 2003 server yet. I have not seen or heard it.

Thanks

Andy

Windows 2003 server is not supported by Exact, meaning if something does not work, they will not help you.

I have an email into Exact to see if a beta program is available. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the input!

In the meantime, on the Macola website I found a statement to the effect that they had done extensive testing running on Win 2003 Server beta, with no issues, and that they expect to officially support the OS within several weeks. That being the case I have decided to proceed on a test basis. I have almost two months to play with this setup before I migrate my live companies, and expect that by then Exact will be officially supporting the OS.
