I have a windows 2003 server and have registered a number of internet domain names e.g. fc4.net

I want to host webpages on the 2003 server using iis, and be able to access these pages from the internet by typing in I have been told if i want to do this, i need to get my ISP to forward any www. requests for fc4.net to forward to my static IP and then have a cname record with an alias of www. created under the forward lookup zone in DNS on my server. Is this correct or can anyone simplify what i need to do?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know why you would want to host your own web servers when there are so many free or near-free alternatives out there. Unless you stay up to date with all the security trends, especially relating to IIS, you're just asking for trouble. You will also need to host your own DNS and authoratative name server for your domains, which again, adds complexity and increases your security risks.
