windows 2003 sbs backup log problem

After having problems with our backup we installed all the service packs and windows updates. Now when you go to management then backup and click on view log beside the date it will not open, plus its not listing the backups since the updates. You have to browse the hard drive to get the logs to view them.
Any idea's on how to fix this problem.

found a bug when updating windows server with sp1. the folder c:\inetpub looses some of its files and folders. had to restore the folder from a backup and it sorted on that machine now.

but the problem on the other server is the management small business server snap in has a problem says to restart the iss admin service. do this and its still the same.
