We have a Windows 2003 R2 as our Print Server. Print service (spoolsv.eve) is crashing about once a month with the error "Faulting application spoolsv.exe, version 5.2.3790.3959, faulting module hpzui4wm.DLL, version 61.63.461.42, fault address 0x001d9580" Known problem for which newer version HP drivers are available. As we have 20+ various model printers using this particular DLL, I'm trying to limit troubleshooting to one printer so I downloaded the new driver & installed it on our Print Server. I deleted the printer from a user's system (including the specific DLL mentioned above), then reintalled the printer but the previous DLL reappeared on the user's system.
Anyone know why? I want to get rid of the drivers/file causing the problem entirely. And is it possible to upgrade the drivers for each of the 20+ printers individually as to minimize impact?
Thank you.
