I am fixing to raise my domain functional level to Windows 2003 native. One of my DC is a Windows 2003 server, and the other is a Windows 2003 R2 server. I also have a Windows 2000 server. Is it possible to raise the domain functional level to Windows 2003 native with a Windows 2000 member server? Has anyone experienced this before?

It's called Windows 2000 Native not Windows 2003 Native and you can have both Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 Domain Controllers.

If your Windows 2000 Server is a member (ie. not a domain controller) then it would work even at Windows 2003 functional level as it is the version of domain controllers that effects the functional level you can raise to and not member servers.

Sorry about the wording. I am trying to install Exchange 2007 for a small organization. I assume the correct wording is I need to raise my domain functional level to Windows Server 2003 with a member server running Windows 2000. Just to clerify.

You can raise to Windows Server 2003 domain functional level with a 2000 member server.
