Hi,

I have purchased a server from Dell and it has Windows 2003 Standard Edition R2 installed (OEM).

I want to put 4 MS Virtual Server machines on this one server. Is this allowed with the standard edition hosting the VS?

If I can't do this can I by a proper copy of Windows 2003 Enterprise and then load the virtual machines with the OEM Windows 2003 Standard edition?

I'm a bit confused.

Thanks for any help.

You will need a seperate licence for every instance of server installed. OEM will only cover one install but not sure if you can even use it for a virtual instance.

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months
