Hello,
I am currently setting up a webserver using a W2003 Standard/ SQL2005 box with IIS to publish it,
I have also got a Windows Enterprise evaluation copy (it is for testing) on a second box combined with ISA 2004 to act as a firewall between the webserver and the outside world.
I have configured both of the servers into a workgroup and aloated them address's on the same subnet, the problem I am having is that I can pig the webserver from the firewall ok but can not ping the the firewall from the webserver. they are connected directly via CAT 5 and with the first ping gives proof of conectivity.
Initialy I thought it may be the ISA settings but I have allowed all traffic to pass through it also have tried stoping the ISA services (no change).
The configurations are as below.
WEBSERVER
Ip Address 192.168.10.1
Subnet mask 255.255.255.128
Default gateway 192.168.10.2
Firewall
Ip Address 192.168.10.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.128
Default gateway nil
This is something that I feel should be a simple task but am at a total loss, please if there is anyone there not feeling my pain but laughing at how stupid I am being can you put me out of my missery and let me know where I am going wrong.
Thanks in advance
Dyls
