Can I install/house all the 5 FSMO roles on 1 Domain controller which is also my global catalog server??. I have heard that you have to split them up so the 2 forest roles ( Domain Naming Master and Schema Master ) are on a seperate domain controller to the remaining Domain roles, otherwise Active Directory will not replicate correctly.
This seems a bit strange, as when you run DCPROMO and follow the default settings for the first DC in the forest, setup by default adds all the five roles to the first DC.

Has anyone got any ideas??

This is more of a best practice than must do scenario. You can keep all your roles on one DC if you want but if you have multiple DC's on fairly large network then better to distribute the roles. If your only running a one or two DC domain... Leave it as is!!
