We have a Dell 2950 PE Server.
It has 6 Drive bays/slots.
It is running 2003 Server
First drive = O.S. this drive is set up as Virtual Drive 0
Second, Third and Fourth Drives are data drives setup as Virtual Drive 2 (these three drives are combined for a
virtual drive space of 2.5 TB) = Virtual Drive 1(VD1)

We want to add two more 1 TB drives, and have placed them
in the server and created VD2

My problem, I want to extend/expand Drive D: which is VD1 to include VD2, so I'll have a drive size of 4.5 TB

When I go into the command line and use the disk partition software it tells me the drive is not valid to expand.

Is the problem with expanding/extending a partition or volume being caused because these drives are two different Virtual Drives?? Do I have to combine VD1 and V2 drives into ONE single VD1?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!!
