I am trying to setup my Server as a VPN server. The server has only on nic(10.1.7.100) set for a static address. The system is behind a Linksys BEFSR41 router. The router has port 1723 forwarded to the server, also PPTP is enabled. The DHCP it set to provide the ip addresses for the remote clients. Currently I can connect to the server get an ip address. However, I can not ping the server, any network resource or websites once connected from the client. Nor can I ping the client from the server. The at last connection the client was provided the
ip address
10.1.7.103 255.255.255.255
Gateway 10.1.7.103

Any ideas on what is keeping it from seeing the network?
