I am in a bit of a pickle and need some immediate help. My 2003 server crashed on me and I had to reinstall the OS again. I had all my users stored on a different partition so I didn't loose any data. Now that I set-up my domain and AD, I can't access the files in the user folders. I keep getting "access denied to the user desktop/my documents"

what am I missing or doing wrong?

If you have rebuilt your domain, and not modified the permissions of the files on this other drive then you will not be able to access these and the result you get is what you should.

Even if you build your domain with the same name, same users and groups this is not going to work. Because all user and groups have unique identifiers associated with them, this would have changed when you rebuilt. You will need to reapply NTFS permissions to all of you files and folders.
