I'm unable to access my company's website from inside my network. Is there a specific setting I need to have in DNS in order for my site to work? Everything works great fromthe pubic internet.
the IP of the website externally should work. If namespace is different, then you can create an internal AD zone for that name space and then input the A record for
Why in the world would you create a zone if for an external website? Doesn't make sense. His ISP forwarders will handle that request. If his DNS wasn't already forwarded, or his root hints were out of whack, he'd be complaining that his users couldn't get to any website.

I just SAID it could be done. The authoritative DNS server for the website is just for the website. Having an internal zone allows you to put in A and MX records if need be say for webmail or an ftp site, or items that are in a DMZ, it also helps you access external links internally without having to go to the Web Host to manage these for you. Like I said...depends on individual envoironemnts.
