We are building a 3 node cluster for sql 2005. We are using an EMC cx700 array. We need to align the storage track boundaries using Diskpart. After selecting the disk I run "Create Partition Primary Align=64" for each disk on the first server. Because this is a cluster only one host will own a given disk at one time.

I beleive that I only have to do the align of each disk on one host - not all 3 hosts.

Is this correct?

Yes, the other nodes will see the changed disk settings when they become the active node on the cluster.

I successfully use diskpart on my cluster disks .

with regards,

Sybje
