HI All

We have W2K3 DC here that is giving Event ID: 202 - The product Windows Server is out of licenses. Server is per seat and has 100 licenses listed as being installed (from Licensing in Admin Tools). The server has got terminal server software installed on it by my predecessor but is not used as a terminal server (and I will uninstall shortly).

We have just bought new licenses to make up compliance (as we were over 100). However-

1. Is the Event ID a terminal services ID or plain Windows sever msg - hoping that uninstalling terminal server will get rid of the Event ID.
2. Does the Licensing software in Windows (Admin Tools) just act as a reference for CAL's - when additional CAL's are purchased are they entered in here (numbers only)?

Our CAL purchases are reocrded in Eopen.

Many thanks in advanced.

You can turn off the licensing service (should have been by default I thought). It's just to assist you, when in reality it only helps to confuse.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

Will give it a try - cheers!
