I have a Windows 2003 server with SQL 2000 installed on it after problems on one of the hard drives the machine boots up and hangs on the grey screen following the 2003 splash screen. I can Ping the server and the mouse still moves freely but the logon screen never comes up nor am I able to connect to it through the Administrative shares, MMC, Remote Task Manager or RDP. CTL+ALT+DEL do nothing and Raid array shows no activity.

Booted up with ERD Commander and looked at bootex log it shows several files have been corrpted and repaired once the bad drive was brought online.

Machine does the same thing when booted into all options Safe Mode, VGA only, logging enabled, nothing. booted into the Recovery console disabled all extra services still nothing. Also deleted the page file and still nothing.

Please help. I am looking for any advise or ideas.

Thanks,
Ramsman

I have similar problem with my terminal server that hangs on gray screen for 5 minutes before it finally login and after that everything works fine. I use CTRL ALT DEL to speed up the login process but it's annoying.
