Windows 2000 VB hanging

I have a fairly large vb.exe (980KB) which through code I execute a shell to another .exe (320KB). This runs OK in Windows 95/98 but with windows 2000 it hangs when the program shells to the smaller exe. I assume this is a memory problem. Is there a way to make this app work? Thanks for you help. Joe LeClair
