Hi,

what TCP ports are default open after W2K Server installation.?

for waht is the TCP port 7 echo important?

Frady

The Echo Port is normaly used for testing if TCP/IP on a Computer is running. It does only Echo the incoming data. Usually it is not a security flaw, except somebody tries da DoS Attack by permanent echos.

Hi,

this mean also that it is unimportant and must be killed?

Frady

You can close this port except you have Applications running which use this functions. The common system Applications do not use this port.
