I have Windows 2000 Professional with SP3 installed on my client machines. If I attempt to install SP3 on my Windows 2000 Server (SP2), the installation process halts at "Inspecting System" after it has copied the installation files to a temp directory. Leaving this overnite (hoping something would happen) did nothing. The server was not locked up and continued to operate. I was able to cancel out of the installation with the perrenial "Are you sure?" prompt. Something else that may be related: If I go to the Device Manager and attempt to view any device property, the Device Manger freezes without my being able to view the device properties. The only way out is through the Task Manager. Any help is most appreciated.
