I want to set up a 2nd WIndows 2000 Server in our LAN for use with a Pervasive.SQL application. Users will only access this 2nd Server through Terminal Server Application Server Mode. My main Server is a Windows 2000 DC and we want to keep the Pervasive application away from it.

My question is.

Do I have to make my 2nd Server a Domain Controller in order to install & run Terminal Services Application Server Mode?

No, you can leave it as a member server.

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

In fact, its generally preferred to keep the TS host server as a non-DC.

Do even think of making a DC a Terminal server. The security issues of TS on a DC are not something you want to deal with... as Lander215 advises, make it a member server
