We have a Windows 2000 Terminal server, running Exchange 2000. It has 2GB of RAM. We're receiving some information and error alerts (Event ID 9582).

We've found some articles on MS Technet that uses a reghack to resolve this issue, but would it be wise to install more RAM (1GB or 2GB RAM)as well?

One Tech who works with our team insists anything over 2GB on an Exchange 2000 box would be unused by Exchange. Does anyone agree with that statement?

Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?

Hi mate
I strongly recommend you go to and do a search on that event ID there was a lot of info there that does not involve reg hacks and resolves the 2gig 3 gig ram business for you.
