This is ridiculous! has anybody come across an error on windows 2000 server where when you go into my network places>entire network and then there’s nothing in it. if i then go to the entire contents and selected MS Windows Netwrok?'DOMAIN NAME' there’s nothing in that as well. this is a domain controller back its weird!

I found this article:
which describes the error however the resolution doesn’t work for me as in the entire contents there’s nothing either! i really needed that so i could set backup exec to do another server form this one!

also i have just made a separate backup exec server and it can view the computers as i need the orinal one to however it cant see the domain conroller in that view?!!!

Anybody got any ideas?

yeh......but when i do the same thing on another server it can see all the servers/computers bar the server that cant see anything!

I would check the WINS settings on the problem server and compare it to other servers that are working. Are they pointing to the corect WINS server and is NETBIOS over TCP/IP enabled?

HAHAHAHAHAHA IT WAS A DHCP/NETBOIS ISSUE. I FEEL STUPID
