windows 2000 server as a bdc

hi,

I have an win nt4 server as a PDC, can I add win 2000 server and make it a BDC.

Hi,

The answer is - NO.
W2k can be a DC (PDC) or a member server in a mixed W2k/WNT environment.

We don't do that because it looks like it's not possible. What we do is to make the new server as a Win NT BDC, take the Win NT PDC offline, promote the new Win NT BDC to PDC and upgrade it to Win2k DC, if everythings works fine then upgrade the previous PDC to Win2k DC as well. Finally upgrade it all win2k DC to native mode.
