Under Windows 2000, for each new user profile, the system requests the data1.msi file in order for each MS Office program to run. You can place the data1.msi file under the C:\documents and settings\all users directory then point to it when the system requests it. However, this does not always work. There are times when it needs the file from the CD. Also, when you have 25-50 users on the same PC, you can't go around pointing the system to the data1.msi file. Its very time consuming and bothersome. Do you have an all around resolution to this so that the system automatically picks-up data1.msi and loads it when necessary? Or, is this something that needs to be added to the users login script?
Thank you.

Was an administrative installation done using the /a switch?
/a switch
Setup performs an administrative installation using the specified Microsoft Installer (.msi) file to create an administrative install point. The .msi file must be in the same folder as Setup.exe.
NOTE: This option cannot be used along with the /i switch...
Example: /a data1.msi
