Windows 2000 RAS Server errors

Hi,

I have Windows 2k SBS and I am running RAS, yesterday it started playing up, users could not log in. When I try to start the RRAS service i get this message:

Could not start the routing and remote access service on local computer. the service did not return an error. This could be an internal windows error or an internal servce error.

Steps I have taken are:

I uninstalled Windows 2k SP3 (It sort of co-incided with the installation of this), still same error.

I have tried uninstalling the TCP/IP stack, still same error.

Does anyone know if its possible to restore the back up of a service in Win 2k?

Next step of action is:

Restore the entire winnt folder. (Drastic, I know)

YOu should be able to go under add remove programs then windows components and remove the RAS service.

Hi,

RAS is not listed to uninstall - You can delete it from the MMC, but when I do this it still does not work.
