I have a Windows 2000 Pro machine that want go out to the internet. The nic card is a 3com905c-TX and it says it is functioning properly. I can ping certain address, but I cannot ping a website. When I try to release and renew the ip address I get an error. The error is as follows,

error: adapter "all" is not bound to TCP/IP

What could be the problem or fix. Thanks.

Update the drivers with the drivers from the 3com site. I had a card that behaved in a similar fashion and once I downloaded the drivers from 3com and then used the "Update Driver" button on the device, everything started working as intended.

I'd recommend giving that a shot.

Cheers!

Try reloading the driver or using an updated driver. It looks like your tcp/ip protocol is corrupted. If that doesn't work then remove the tcp/ip protocol and when you reinstall it should bind to all adapters including your nic.
