Windows 2000 professional freezes up sometimes. The only thing I can do is reset it. What could be causing this to happen?

Mitch, the group will more information than that to help. What apps you have open when it locks up would be good, printing maybe. What ever it is that describes what you might be doing. Even if you don't feel it is relevant.
