Hi,

I have a Win2K workstation that is in a workgroup. I have used a local operator login and password to get into the system. Now when I try to login, it will not recognize the operator password or the local admin password. I tried to access the system remotely via System Tools\Computer Management.....Local Users and Groups has a red X on it. Services, Disk Management,Event Viewer, etc. all give me an "access denied" error when I try to access them.

Knowns: Can ping system
System reboots and comes back online
No service errors
Ran util to change local admin password...no success

Any help would be greatly apprciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean you have a local username/password for the machine (the term operator login means nothing to me). Was this local user member of administrator's group?

By using the term local - does this mean the machine is/was member of a domain? if so, has it been removed from domain?

local admin password - do you mean logging on as Administrator?

Obvious question. When did you last successfully log on. and what's changed to your knowledge since then?
