I have had Win2000 for a month now and all of a sudden I and another co-worker are getting Print Spooler notifications (on different network printers) when our print job has been completed. Something has changed it seems since Friday but our network admin swears he didn't change anything. His response is that's just Win2000 - it's quirky. I am sure that is not the case....please advise how I can turn this feature off.

Thanks.

Go to Start, Settings, Printers.

Click File, and choose Server Properties.

On the Advanced tab, uncheck Notify when Remote Documents are Printed.

Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, double click Services, highlight Print Spooler, under Action menu, Start and restart the Spooler service.

I went into the Server properties and the Remote Documents check box was not selected.

I then went into the Services, Print Spooler and restarted the spooler service and it still gave me a notification box. Any other suggestions. THANKS.

I would suggest re-boot the computer after re-startin print spooler and then once it's on again, re-start print spooler and see if you still get the message.

Next step is to play with Registry and if you are not versed in Registry settings, I wouldn't advise it.

Is it just the two people getting this message or everyone? This property could have been set on the print server as well.
