Hi,

I want supply all my Windows 2000 professional users with printer drivers for about 10 non standard printers, which they will be instructed to install themselves.

I want the users to be able to select the printer make and model by going through the "Add Printer" option and just see them in the list of all the drivers that Windows 2000 already knows about.

I have all the driver files and have tried putting them in

c:\WINNT\system32
c:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86

but I still cannot see them in the list that would normally show the make and model.

I don't want the users to select "Have disk" and browse to the location on the machine.

Also I am not sure which driver files to put in the standard driver location. Any information on which files I need to copy would be very helpful.

Many many thanks in advance for any help

Kind regards

Jat

Why dont you just install the printers on a server - share them out and then the users can connect to each printer. When they do this they will automatically download the correct drivers from the server.
