I know from windows nt that you can multihome a computer with 2 nics. Can you do so in windows 2000 pro and if so how do you get it to work?

Yes you can do this in Win2k, just add a second network adapter and set it up as you would the first one. I have heard you can sometimes run into problems if both the network cards are an identical make, but havent experienced this.
The are some things you have to watch out for, but they depend on the reason for the setup (I assume you are setting it up as a router/firewall machine)

There's some useful advice here -

Ok, understand now - got one of those at home (never heard it called multihome before), had absolutely no problems with it.

Thanks for the help but am still having problems.

Did all the steps in the bruceb doc. I still can not get the network cards to pass data through.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I should be able to ping the default gateway on the wan card from a client on the lan side, right? I can't seem to get the two cards to bind to each other to pass data thru.

(Multihomed is the Microsoft Technet term for dual homed machines)
