When a user license is deleted or renamed the old name or deleted name reappears after a reboot. So if 10 were deleted say 6 months ago and a the server is rebooted the licenses show back up giving me an error in the event viewer that I'm over the licenses.

Solution? Thanks!

Ignore it!

Unless you are dealing with Terminal Services Licenses, the License manager in Windows is useless. All that matters is that you have paid for the CALs you need and can prove you did if audited.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

To add a bit, if the events being logged really bother you then go into services and disable license logging.
