Hi
I've a new laptop and one of the first actions was to install Sidekick 98.
It went well but I hadn't realised that McAfee Antivirus was installed on a 30 day trial.
McAfee put both the sidekick.exe and the patch exe into quarantine.
I could view them in quarantine and there was a simple restore button to put them back.
Curiously, sidekick.exe now has a date of 2023 instead of 2000.
My Memos and Contacts are in Dropbox. So I now have it up and running.
I take my hat off to the creator of Sidekick and still have the DOS disk from Borland. Other oldies in use are Turbo Navigator and SecondCopy which have less suitable modern alternatives. Sidekick has no replacement except perhaps versions of Calendar.[/u]
