I thought I'd share this little tidbit. I had played with tablet mode before, but forgot what it looked like. SOMEHOW between last night when I locked my laptop (Windows 10 Pro), and when I just picked it up this morning, the thing had switch to Tablet mode, but I didn't realize that was the issue initially, b/c I forgot.
Tablet mode looks like it could be really nice when needed, but I prefer desktop mode normally.
So basically, the tip is: if you suddenly can't see your desktop icons, and suddenly can't get the Start Menu to go away, and also cannot use/manage virtual desktops, then you've got tablet mode on. To turn it off, simply hit Start and begin typing Tablet and you'll see Tablet Mode show up in the Start Menu search results.
Another way is to simply go to the Message/Notifications center on the right of the screen or via the start menu, and then click the Tablet mode icon. Here's a reference from Microsoft on Tablet mode, where you'll see which icon on the Message center to click:
Best I can tell so far, there is no keyboard shortcut for this, so in my case, I imagine I accidentally clicked the icon in the messages area.
"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57
