We regularly dial into Hipath DX systems via modem. IP is not an option. We have a bunch of generic USB modems that install and work fine under Windows 7 without installation files but we're having issues using them in Windows 10. They identify as softmodems, Agere, Conextant or LSI HDA, and install automatically, but only connect if we manually set the rate to 2400 baud. Any higher and they just continually retrain until they time out. Under Windows 7 they all work flawlessly without any need to manually reduce the connection rate. We have tested on several lines with the same results.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and, if a new Windows 10 compatible modem for dial-up is required, which one I should consider purchasing? We use Procomm and Zoc software and get the same speed issues with both.
Thanks,
Stoobie.
