When I open a folder in Windows Explorer and have my view type set to medium, large or extra large icons, it will briefly display some old thumbnail images before refreshing itself and showing the correct, current thumbnail images. This will happen every time the view is refreshed.
I have run disk cleanup, both under my normal user, and as administrator with "Files to delete"->"Thumbnails" checked.
I have also deleted all the iconcache*.db and thumbcache*.db files from my C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer folder.
The above 'fixes' don't change the behaviour. It is as if there is a more deeply hidden file that Windows Explorer initially uses to display the thumbnail view, and then it finds the correct thumbnails to display.
While this is a minor annoyance, it is frustrating that I have the screen flash the wrong images every time I access the folder through windows explorer.
Can anyone point me to some other potential causes (& solutions) for this problem?
Thanks,
Jeff
