Window_OnBeforeUnload Event

I coded this event into my web page and it worked fine.
I am using Windows 2000 and IE 5.5.

Users are using Windows 95 or 98 and a lesser IE version.

The Window_OnBeforeUnload Event worked fine for me but resulted in an infinite loop on the uers's machines.

Why would this happen?
