window.open() from desktop shortcut

This may not be the right forum for this question and for that I apologize.

Is there a way, using a desktop shortcut, to specify how IE (and only IE) will open? Such as no toolbar, no status bar, etc.

I'm familiar with the window.open() command but even using it in a URL won't work in this case since that would spawn a second window.

I imagine it would have to be done as a batch or script file but I'm just not that familiar with batch files or scripting windows.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
