running win xp pro with a 22inch monitor, supposedly a trinitron, says Compaq on the front. When i have any window open it all of a sudden shrinks a bit and then later it will go back to the size it was, which makes the "x" or close feature off the screen. I have to kind of guess where the x is to get out of that window. Also, the whole desktop does the same thing, shrinks a bit then gets a bit larger, then shrinks. I am getting so used to it that its not the end of the world, but if i can stop this, it would be helpful!
I have one 5 foot svga cable, a good one. I tried changing the cable, using an older vga cable and its the same and also kind of shimmies so its actually worse so i changed back to the better cable. I am not using an extension cable at all.
1152x864, 32 bit color, display\dpi setting is normal size 96 dpi, onboard intel extreme graphics, in the monitor section it says the screen refresh rate is 100 hertz, but when i go to the intel extreme graphics it says the refresh rate is 60 hz, and i notice it will allow the setting to be changed up to 85hhz at the highest.
I got this monitor used and it is older so i dont know how much use its had. I did degauss it when i first got it.
I am not up on this so can anyone tell me how i might fix this?
thanks
