Hi All,

I have a windows 2003 server installed on my desktop. I formatted the system with window 2000 Pro OS.

I normally see Windows 2003 server OS just bellow windows 2000 pro in the boot menu when booting the system.

I still see windows 2003 server on the boot menu whenever i restart the system even after I deleted the Windows folder just to get rid of the Windows 2003 OS from the C:\.

I will appreciate any information that can enable me to completely get the windows 2003 server OS from the boot menu.

Thanks.

You need to modify the boot.ini file and remove the erroneous entry. It is a hidden file on your C:\

type msconfig at the run line and go to the boot.ini file then remove the line that ponints to the windows 2003 .

msconfig doesn't work in W2K, only XP and 2003.

If you are booting into a W2K environemnt then you need to open the boot.ini file in notepad. It is hidden and write protected so make sure you remove those flags before you edit it.
