Win98se hangs at boot up

win98 hangs for around 30mins on boot up at windows screen. when it finally starts there is no error message and everything works fine.

Have you tried starting in "Step by Step" mode to see whats causing the delay.

Off hand it sounds like it's running a virus scan or waiting for hardware to "time out" or a number or other things.
