I manage to connect win98se and xp and the xp can view files from the win98 but the win98 cannot view the shared folders of win xp. it can only show the computer of win98 and when u browse the xp computer it always "unable to browse it".

Did you check your IP Settings? (Make sure your IP address is on the same subnet? Make sure your subnet mask is the exact same.)

Also make sure that on both of the computers, that there aren't any other controllers (NIC or Modem) that are on the same subnet. (Maybe you have 2 NIC cards or a NIC card and a Modem that are using the same subnet)
