Hi,
I can not get a Win98 PC to access the internet.
I have a dlink dsl router plugged into a PC with two nic cards. The PC is running Win98 and Winroute Pro software. It browses the internet fine and I can set up VPN's etc.
There are two gateways on the network, one is an ISDN thing and the other the new DSL/PC thing. I goto a Win98 PC on the network and go into TCP/IP properties and change the gateway setting to the new ip address gateway. Once I have rebooted then winipcfg comes up with the default gateway. I can ping the DSL/router but not anything else ie etc.
I put the DSL/router ip number into DNS resolution but that does nothing. Do I need to enter Wins details?
I know the solution works as the person who set it up had a client PC surfing the web etc. He told me that all I had to do was change the default IP and everything would be fine. However, I have tried this on two different Win98 PC's (including the one he demo'd) with no luck.
