I have Win98 in a 450 K6-2 128mb,16mb V, 16bit SB, running only WinGate and Norton's system doctor at startup. My 257k wav. file hangs during startup. I've tried to disable all but Win98 at startup, wav. plays about a week and then starts to hang. Any ideals?

Get rid of Nortons first. Try using a different .wav file for startup. File might be ccorrupted. Ensure you have correct and latest drivers for sound card. What brand is it?
Pull sound card out, reboot in safe mode and delete all references to your sound card. Reboot and reinstall

It is a sound blaster 16 bit, with updated drivers. I've tried to shorter wav.'s,they work fine. but when I get up around 200k they start hanging. I'm going to edit mine down to about 180k and see who it works.
R & G Computers
rafales@carnegienet.net
