I recently had to reinstall Win98SE onto one of my systems and now it seems to be having some trouble updating itself.
You know how after you install certain programs and it asks you to restart the computer, then you reboot and usually in the dos command area you see:
----------
Please wait while Setup updates your configuration files...
Then:
Blaa Blaa
Windows is now continuing to load...
----------
Well my system isn't loading the program that does this. This means after I reload windows, I have the THEN restart into MS-Dos and update the configuration files manually using the application wininit.exe, then load windows again.
Does anyone know what could be the problem and why windows doesn't update it's files on the first reboot?
Thanks,
Eric J. Griffin
