Win98: Outlook Express 6 Locks When Loading

I am encountering an issue when loading Outlook Express 6 up on a Windows 98 system.

Outlook appears to be loading, but stops dead in its tracks when loading. All I am presented with is the tool bar, and blank white work area (where the folders and emals should be). It sits there until I give the system a CTRL+ALT+DEL.

When doing so, the Outlook Express 6 is showing it is "not responding".

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have applied all the latest patches for te Windows 98 OS and Outlook Express.

I have also tried exporting / importing the user id as discribed on the MS Outlook Support area.

No chane in my situation.

Thanks,

Search for *.dbx. Write down the location of your dbx files, now, cut and paste them to a different folder. Outlook Express should build new ones. If that fixes it, great, you had damaged dbx files. Try file>import to reimport the data from the original ones you moved.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
