I have received the blue screen in Win98 as follows
'Kebug checkex called by COO2aaf3. Error code is 44. Parameters d2e9e140 0 0 0. System halted'
How do I get to the cause of this?

As I understand it, Kebug checkex is an error thrown up by the Windows Driver Developement Kit, when a driver reports an error that cannot be recovered from. I have no idea what driver it could be, have you added any hardware recently, otherwise a driver has got corrupted. Try booting to safe mode to see whether the problem still appears, if it doesn't remove all but essential stuff at loadup and try again.
