I have two users that have just joined a domain for the 1st time. Now when they VPN via our Cisco PIX515 they receive a Error 691: The computer you are dialing into cannot establish a Dial-Up Networking connection. Check your password and try again. I have read the entry from rdoucet posted 09/25/01. Has anyone else found any other way to fix this problem? I do not want to change their username on the PIX to domain\username. - Thanks

HI.

What about upgrading your VPN technology to IPSec and cisco vpn client?
This will eliminate that problem and will add new features like split-tunnel, and better security (if you use both IKE password and radius authentictation).
It will require some work to establish the new VPN but I think it is the best approach.

This means usually there is nobody waiting for a connection.

Check your configuration. It must be something like this:

sysopt connection permit-pptp
ip local pool pptp-pool 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.254
access-list 111 permit ip 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0
nat (inside) 0 access-list 111

vpdn group 1 accept dialin pptp
vpdn group 1 ppp authentication pap
vpdn group 1 ppp authentication chap
vpdn group 1 ppp authentication mschap
vpdn group 1 client configuration address local pptp-pool
vpdn group 1 client authentication local

vpdn username domain\name password pw
vpdn enable outside
